Hauntings begin with a recognition. In my pursuit of being seen, I became haunted. And in those days of being haunted, I became ruinous to myself and others.
How do you exorcise yourself of such a haunting? The answer is more mundane than you could ever imagine, and the sweetest of anything I’ve ever tasted. My solution to it all was the folly that all fools had come to face when met with the end. When I say the end, I simply mean the end of the illusion. It would be more accurate to say it was the beginning, though there was never truly any beginning.
An oasis to return to, a myth, another lens, something that became a perverted version of itself, and something that clarified ceaselessly.
Through you, I see myself.
Without me, there is nothing.
Was I happy?
You were very happy.
It brings me to tears every time.
